Military pocket watches, along with their civilian equivalents, are experiencing a significant surge in popularity. Historically, these watches were often employed for land-based, airborne, and naval applications. During WWII, RAF and USAAF navigators and bomb aimers (US: Bombardiers) frequently preferred pocket watches over conventional wristwatches. Pocket watches were easier to place on a chart, bench, or in the nose of an aircraft while working or approaching a target. At the time, wristwatches were very small and hard to read, with an average diameter of only around 32mm. In contrast, the larger case size of pocket watches, around 50mm, made them much easier to see.

This classic WWII-pattern military watch features a small subsidiary dial second hand and is based on the typical designs made by various manufacturers. It has a traditional 17-jewel hand-wound movement and has been upgraded to a glass crystal, which is superior to the acrylic/plastic crystals used in WWII that were easily scratched or damaged.

This particular pocket watch has a solid stainless steel case made from Military Grade 316L stainless steel and includes a subsidiary dial second hand.
