MWC 1940s to 1960s Pattern General Service Watch with Sterile Dial and 24 Jewel Automatic Movement (Retro Cream Dial Variant) - New But Needs Attention
This watch is a UK/W10S/LC below is a full description of this particular watch and the issues which it has (or is reported to have because in many cases the watches do not have significant issues, below that is the full information relating to this model from the factory website which gives full details of all of the dimensions, specification and other information relating to the watch.
We buy these watches from various defence auctions and other disposal sales and it's frequently the case that we find that there is actually nothing wrong with the watch but it has to be assumed it will have some form of fault though in most cases it's very minor or as described below. These watches are disposed of at low-cost because we find that one of the problems is pressure of time for our service staff in the UK and elsewhere and in most cases they have given them a quick check over and nothing is immediately apparent though we have to assume that there is either no real fault with the watch or something will reveal itself over time in which case it’s normally a simple case of a service, repair or battery exchange depending on the exact model
Condition: Brand New Plastic Still on Crystal Etc
Fault: Not Running fault unknown but clearly something minor because the watch is brand new and the NH35 movement is generally very reliable.
SKU Code: UK/W10S/LC
This automatic self-winding 1960s pattern MWC military watch is based on the typical designs used by the British Army from the late 1940s to the 1960s, it retains the acrylic crystal as used on the original watches, although the mechanical movement is upgraded to automatic with the option to hand-wind if required. The watch offers the benefit of retaining the original outward appearance whilst having the advantage of a few discreet updates to improve its suitability for use on a day-to-day basis.
This watch has a heavy stainless steel satin finish case made from Military Grade 316L stainless steel, sweep second hand, hacking function, black dial and luminous markings. It has a strap made in the same canvas material and general design which was used in the 1940s and 50s.
This watch is water-resistant to 3 ATM. For details of water resistance ratings etc go to Water Resistance
Please note: The watch uses Luminous Super Luminova paint, although the watch carries an encircled T for historical accuracy though no radioactive material is contained within the watch.
