MWC Classic 1950s/1960s Pattern 25 Jewel Automatic Military Watch with Retro Luminous Paint, Sapphire Crystal and 2 x NATO Straps
SKU Code: 5025J/NS
This particular watch is based on a 1950s/1960s pattern military watch. The watch has a box sapphire crystal which looks outwardly identical to the original plexiglass crystal, the movement is a Ronda R 150 or equivalent, which is a sophisticated 25 jewel automatic movement with an impressive frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz). This precision-crafted powerhouse boasts a substantial 38-hour power reserve, ensuring enduring performance. Notably equipped with hacking and hand-winding capabilities, it exemplifies both efficiency and convenience. The quickset date function adds a further layer of functionality, making this movement a pinnacle of horological engineering.
The watch uses Luminova as opposed to the Tritium which was used in the 1960s. The main advantage with Luminova is that unlike Tritium it does not deteriorate with age and is non radioactive. On this particular variant the paint colour mimics the appearance of aged Tritium paint and although the T is encircled, which would indicate tritium, this is done only for historical reasons.
This watch measures 39mm in diameter and is supplied with two NATO straps one black and one standard British issue Admiralty gray.
