5 of these watches were purchased at a security industries show in South Korea by a Police officer for his colleagues and he apparently came back after a few days and asked if it was possible to exchange 2 of them for more expensive watches with GTLS in titanium cases, these 2 x G10GC watches are therefore good as new, although they have been worn for a few days and show no signs of any scratches although the packaging has some labels which were applied the watches are perfect and represent a significant saving over the normal price, both are complete with both the black and gray strap in the original tins. It should also be noted that the manufacturer does not have this model currently in production.

SKU Code: G10GC

This MWC model is an exact remake of the watch which we made between 1999 and 2004, it is very similar in many ways to the current models except that it has a more compact case, visually the watch is indistinguishable from the originals one of which can be seen in the final image. We have however made significant improvements, for example this watch has a 60 month battery life whereas the originals back in the late 1990s and early 2000s only ran for around 36 months. This watch was the replacement for the plexiglass model which we have also we made the main difference between the models which we made this model is that they were slightly thicker this watch it's therefore slightly more streamlined and thinner than the plexiglass variant which has retained its original dimensions to maintain historical accuracy.

The watch uses Super Luminova for improved night time visibility although it retains the encircled T rather than an encircled L for historical reasons. Super Luminova operates like a light battery, after sufficient activation by sunlight or artificial light, the pigment glows in the dark until the luminosity gradually diminishes although larger markings are often visible for the whole night, if needed its very easy to recharge the luminosity simply by exposing the watch to bright light for a few minutes. This activation and subsequent light emission process can be repeated again and again, and the material does not suffer aging which was an issue with the old radioactive pigments which declined dramatically after around 10 years. The other advantage is that Super Luminova pigments are 100% free of radioactivity, the original watches we made in the 80s used tritium paint hence the encircled T on the dial.

Because we have made these watches for over 40 years they are a very tried and tested model and large numbers of military personnel who were deployed in the Middle East and other locations have evaluated these model extensively with very favorable reports concerning long term reliability and durability.

Whilst this model is indistinguishable from the original watches we made in the between 1999 and 2004 we have carried a few detail improvements here and there which means that the watch is significantly superior to the original watches.

The back of the case bears a unique serial number and the watch is supplied with two current issue NATO webbing straps of which one is standard NATO grey and the other is black. The watch is supplied in a box which carries the original 1974 pattern MWC logo which has not been used for well over 20 years.
