GG-W-113 US 1960s Pattern Military Watch Very Rare Black Model (Handwound) - Might Need a Service
This watch is a GGW113LTD variant which was only made once in 2010 below is a full description of this particular watch and the issues which it has (or is reported to have because in many cases the watches do not have significant issues, below that is the full information relating to this model from the factory website which gives full details of all of the dimensions, specification and other information relating to the watch.
We buy these watches from various defence auctions and other disposal sales and it's frequently the case that we find that there is actually nothing wrong with the watch but it has to be assumed it will have some form of fault though in most cases it's very minor or as described below. These watches are disposed of at low-cost because we find that one of the problems is pressure of time for our service staff in the UK and elsewhere and in most cases they have given them a quick check over and nothing is immediately apparent though we have to assume that there is either no real fault with the watch or something will reveal itself over time in which case it’s normally a simple case of a service, repair or battery exchange depending on the exact model

This Ltd Edition is a recreation based on the original 1960's Vietnam designs but with the interesting feature of being olive drab making the watch non reflective and covert. The watches at the time were made in a variety of slightly different styles by Benrus, Bulova and Waltham but were all based on an original US government specification laid down at the time.
This particular watch came into being because in January 2009 MWC were approached by a US veterans association who asked us to examine the viability of making a watch which was similar in appearance to the original watches which were made during the Vietnam war. They were sent samples of watches to examine and also the original specification sheeets and the result was a watch which was very close to the original and uses a high grade fully jewelled handwound movement. As a result of making that watch they were contacted again with a view to recreating a limited edition and as a result are planning to manufacture a range of variants over the next few. The original watches are now almost impossible to find in good sound condition and in mint condition are becoming fairly valuable so this recreation is a cost effective way to own a watch made in the spirit of the original but with a unique olive drab finish.
