Model: ABACH/DUHR1
Condition: Looks Very New
Fault: This watch is not running, but is very new and in its original packaging. It came in from a clearance auction and it could be that it's an ex display model but we can't be 100% certain what the situation is we've tried winding it and it just doesn't run.

SKU Code: ABACH/DUHR1
This automatic self-winding classic WW2-pattern Aeschbach military watch, featuring a small subsidiary seconds dial, is based on the typical designs used by the German Luftwaffe and issued by the Reichsluftfahrtministerium (RLM / German Air Ministry). These watches were not kept by Luftwaffe pilots but were issued on a mission-by-mission basis, to be returned to the quartermaster upon their return to base.
The design of this watch closely mirrors one of Aeschbach's original WW2 models. Although the original watches are now quite rare and often command high prices, this modern version is almost indistinguishable from the factory’s wartime models. It retains the acrylic crystal found in the originals while upgrading the mechanical 15-jewel hand-wound movement to a 21-jewel self-winding automatic movement, which can also be manually wound if necessary. This watch offers the best of both worlds: it maintains the original appearance with a few discreet updates, enhancing its suitability for daily use.
The original WW2 watches, made for the Wehrmacht, Kriegsmarine, and Luftwaffe, were produced by numerous Swiss and German manufacturers, some of which, including Aeschbach (founded in 1923), continue to operate today. While British military watch collectors focus on the "Dirty Dozen," collecting German equivalents can be challenging due to the sheer number of suppliers—over 100 different manufacturers.
This particular model features a robust satin-finish case made from military-grade 316L stainless steel, a subsidiary seconds dial, a hacking function, a black dial, and luminous markings.
