These watches are a GG-W-113 handwound and a non running A-11 which needs a crown, below is a full description of the watches and the issues which they have (or is reported to have because in many cases the watches do not have significant issues, below that is the full information relating to this model from the factory website which gives full details of all of the dimensions, specification and other information relating to the watch.

We buy these watches from various defence auctions and other disposal sales and it's frequently the case that we find that there is actually nothing wrong with the watch but it has to be assumed it will have some form of fault though in most cases it's very minor or as described below. These watches are disposed of at low-cost because we find that one of the problems is pressure of time for our service staff in the UK and elsewhere and in most cases they have given them a quick check over and nothing is immediately apparent though we have to assume that there is either no real fault with the watch or something will reveal itself over time in which case it’s normally a simple case of a service, repair or battery exchange depending on the exact model

Model: 1 x GG-W-113 Running and 1 x A-11 not running andneeds a crown

Condition: The GG-W-113 Still has the plastic protectors on both the face and the case back the A-11 also, looks very clean as can be seen in the images, but needs a new crown and does not seem to be running but it's hard to check without the crown.

Faults: One runs the other does not it should be pretty straightforward for a watchmaker to sort out the A-11 but he would need to locate a crown which is the suitable size. We gave the other Watch a quick wind, and it seems to be running fine, but it may need a service as it's a model that was produced around 15 years ago.

SKU Code: A-11 / GG-W-113

These watches are based closely on the original World War Two designs from 1943 (A-11) both of these re-creations came into being because in January 2009 MWC were approached by a US veterans association who asked them to examine the viability of making a watch which was identical in appearance to the original watches which were made by Hamilton, Bulova and Benrus during the Vietnam war this was the GG-W-113. They were sent samples of watches to examine and also the original specification sheets and the result was a watch which was very close to the original and used a high grade fully jewelled handwound movement, this watch was the GG-W-113 which they still make in automatic variants and this particular watch is quite rare because it was made in black antireflective PVD. As a result of making that watch they were contacted again with a view to recreating this even earlier model which is the A-11 these are now almost impossible to find in good sound condition. The reason that finding one is good order is so difficult is primarily because the originals were made from 1943 onwards when resources were limited and hence cheap base metal was used.
