SKU: MWC/PVD/DMK1/BND

We managed to procure a quantity of these unused MWC 2001 model PVD divers watches from a company which purchased them for a contract and entered them into a military/security industries auction. This model was made from the early 1990s to 2004 and although some of the details changed over that time such as the dial design in our opinion the 1999-2001 pattern was the best. The watch is now quite rare and these watches were in storage for some years with an MWC contract client. The watches are basically new / old stock and have never been issued or used. They utilise a Swiss Ronda 705/715 movement and were fitted with new batteries and seals around 5 years ago this one was missed during a stock check and is currently in one of our packing and shipping centers. When the batteries were replaced around five years ago, the watches were also have also been pressure tested to ensure they comply with the 300m rating. The watches are supplied in the presentation box as pictured.

These watches are a very classic design and in addition to MWC variants have been made by other companies such as Precista, CWC etc as well as some other manufacturers. The current CWC watches are shown here https://www.cwcwatch.com/collections/divers-watches at a fraction of the price these are a bargain but we only have a small quantity.

The basic design of this watch goes back to the British defence specification shown in the final image.

The PVD finish is often specified in military contracts for many special forces units as well as by anti terrorist units and for various covert operations. In the PVD process the steel is not black all the way through because the colour is created by a special chemical PVD plating process which is vastly superior to the painted finish used on some lower quality watches which can easily fade or rub off. This PVD process means that the colour of the steel is altered at a molecular level, therefore it will not deteriorate even during heavy usage although it can be destroyed if the case is badly damaged by a piece of metal being gouged out or if the case is worn down by really heavy abrasion against rocks or something similar.

The watch measures 45mm including the crown and 40mm excluding the crown although it uses the the same 20mm military nylon webbing strap as many other current MWC (or CWC, Marathon etc) military divers watches which enables you to choose from a vast variety of NATO strap variants.
